Privacy Policy
Effective: June 2, 2026. Last updated: June 2, 2026.
Ourday Labs LLC (“Ourday,” “we,” “us”) operates Ourday, a service that helps families keep track of their shared information. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.
We believe families should control their own information. This policy is written to make that control real.
What we collect
We collect three kinds of information:
Information you give us directly.
When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and the names and roles of family members you add. When you use Ourday, we store the content you send to us by text, email, or other channels. This includes calendar events, tasks, notes, contacts, recipes, and any other information you choose to share with Ourday.
Information from emails forwarded to your family's Ourday address.
When you or others forward emails to your Ourday address, we process the email content (including attachments) to extract events, tasks, contacts, and other useful information for your family. We may temporarily retain attachments for a short audit period; the specific retention windows are described below.
Limited technical information about how Ourday is used.
This includes the date and time of messages, the channel used (SMS or email), and basic system events.
We do not track which messages you read or how you interact with the briefings Ourday sends. We don't use read receipts, open rates, click tracking, or other engagement analytics. The system knows what it sent; it doesn't try to know what you did with it.
How we use what we collect
We use your information to:
Provide the Ourday service.
This means storing your family's events, tasks, notes, and other content so we can return it to you when asked, send you briefings, and handle the things you ask Ourday to do.
Communicate with you about your account.
We will email or text you about your subscription, important service updates, or in response to your questions.
Improve the service.
We may analyze aggregated, anonymized patterns of how Ourday is used to make it better. We do not sell, share, or use individual family data for training third-party AI models or for any purpose other than providing the service to you.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with:
Service providers we use to operate Ourday.
These include providers for hosting, database storage, text and email delivery, payment processing, and AI processing. We choose providers that publish strong privacy and security commitments, and we use their services under their published data handling terms. A current list of our service providers and their privacy commitments is available on request.
Law enforcement, only when required by law.
If we receive a valid legal request for your information, we will comply, but we will notify you of the request unless prohibited by law.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not provide it to data brokers.
How long we keep it
We keep your information as long as your subscription is active, except for these specific cases:
Documents forwarded to Ourday (PDFs, images, attachments) are kept only briefly. Successful extractions are retained for 7 days as an audit window so you can spot errors. Failed or uncertain extractions are retained for up to 30 days in case we need to re-process them. After these windows close, we discard the source documents and keep only the structured information we extracted from them.
If you cancel your subscription, your family's data is retained for 30 days in case you want to reactivate. After 30 days, your data is permanently deleted.
If you remove a family member, that member's specific information is retained for 30 days, then permanently deleted.
You can request export or deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at hello@ourday.today.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the information we have about your family. You can request a complete export at any time.
- Correct or update your information. Most of this can be done by simply telling Ourday what to change.
- Delete your information. You can ask us to delete your data at any time, with or without canceling your subscription. We will confirm before deleting anything permanent.
- Object to certain uses of your information. If you have concerns about how we use your data, email us and we will respond within a reasonable time.
If you are in a jurisdiction with specific privacy laws (California, the European Union, others), you have additional rights under those laws. We will honor those rights to the extent they apply to your information.
Information about children
Ourday is designed for families that include children. We take the protection of children's information seriously.
When you add a child under 13 to your Ourday family, you are providing consent for us to collect and process that child's information as part of the Ourday service. The information we collect about children includes their name, their role in the family, events and tasks that involve them, and any other information you choose to share about them.
A separate COPPA Disclosure page explains in detail what we collect about children, how we use it, and the rights parents have under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act.
Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls that limit who at Ourday can see your data, and regular security review. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat the protection of your family's information as a core responsibility.
If we ever experience a security incident that affects your information, we will notify you promptly and transparently.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Ourday evolves. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. The current version is always available at ourday.today/privacy.
